Color-Changing Gins

The Old Curiosity Distillery Launched a Trio of Transformative Spirits

The Old Curiosity Distillery's Secret Garden Gin range introduces a collection of color-changing gin spirits in flavors like Apothecary Rose, Lavender and Echinacea, and Chamomile and Cornflower. When the different flavors are combined with tonic water, a reaction happens that transform the pale gold to pink, purple to pink, and blue to pale pink.

The Old Curiosity Distillery is a project from Hamish Martin, a Scottish herbologist who owns the Secret Herb Garden. From this plot of land, the botanicals are grown, picked, dried and infused in each type of gin.

A range of color-changing alcoholic products, teas and other beverages have been launched over the past year, spotlighting ingredients like rosehip blooms and the butterfly pea flower, which modify the color of a drink when its pH levels are disrupted.
