Offline Social Networking Apps

UNHOOK Facebook is an Offline Social Network for Facebook Addicts

UNHOOK Facebook is an anti-Facebook, offline social networking tool. Unface.it has been designed to mainly help people beat their Facebook addiction.

The app allows users to add up to five of their friends to their offline network and encourages them to contact them over the phone when they attempt to use Facebook. The app also keeps users updated on real-time events that are happening in their community to help them get involved and bring their online presence back to the real world.

Although it may sound ironic that a tool that is meant to beat online networking addiction is online itself, it is in fact a fairly clever methodology.

This is analogous to how smokers find it difficult to quit altogether, and substitute with nicotine patches. Facebook addict also needs an online substitution that doesn't cut their online needs altogether, but provides small doses with tints of encouragement to get back out in the real world.
