For Earth Hour, Pizza Hut Rewarded Customers Who Turned Off WiFi

To mark Earth Day, Pizza Hut created an offline pizza initiative in the UAE and Oman that asked customers to turn off their WiFi for an hour to claim their free pizza. Although people usually turn off their lights for an hour during Earth Day, Beverley D’Cruz, chief brand officer for Pizza Hut in the Middle East and Africa, says, "it’s kind of hard to eat pizza in the dark, this year we wanted to encourage people to support a great cause in a different, but just as impactful, way."

The Pizza Hut Offline Hour site showed a 60-minute timer and those who kept the timer going and kept their WiFi off were eligible to claim their pizzas. About 120 free pizzas were given out to those who successfully kept offline.
