Volvo's V90 Ocean Race Wagon is Outfitted with Discarded Fish Netting

The interior of Volvo's V90 Ocean Race Wagon was designed with ocean waste collected from discarded fishnets.

This new Volvo iteration maintains the standard features of the V90, with some additional improvements and modifications. The cars come fitted with a handy removable flashlight and increased number of power outlets, in addition to the brand's sustainable carpeting. The carpeting is made from Econyl, a nylon made from discarded fish netting found on the ocean's floor. The use of the material, which is both durable and completely recycled, hopes to set a sustainable standard for other companies to follow.

Volvo's environmental initiative demonstrates the brand's attempt to appeal to a more environmentally conscious consumer. The Volvo Ocean Wagon will be sold across the United States, Japan and China.
