This video for "Let the Beat Build" by Nyles has been making its rounds on Twitter all weekend. Nyles is a Philadelphia-born NYU student that has turned into something of a local hip-hop sensation, and it’s not difficult to see why. He’s sampled the beat from Lil’ Wayne’s "Let the Beat Build" and created a live version with his own freestyle—and filmed the whole thing in one take.
With profanity-free lines that riff on the recession and his resemblance to Lil’ Wayne, Nyle’s "Let the Beat Build" is a fascinating listen. What rivals his lyrics, however, are the musicians and talent he’s enlisted to accompany his live performance. Stellar.
