For the Mid-Autumn Festival, WMY Works Boasts Nutritious Cakes

A nutritious cake is certainly a commodity that is hard to come by. In preparation for the Mid-Autumn Festival – a cultural celebration of the harvest in China, local creative agency WMY Works and freelance designer HunkXing partner for the release of an interesting project — the W-Moon-Y Multi-Vitabin. This is a range of nutritious cakes, informed by the daily woes of young people in the country. The format takes the shape of the Moon Cake, which is a traditional treat that is enjoyed during the Mid-Autumn Festival. Through analysis, WMY Works found that there are nine "syndromes" that plague young people. These include conditions like staying up late, a tendency to overwork, the habit of eating too little or drinking too much, and so on. Eager to address these, WMY Works curates "compound vitamin cakes" to help alleviate stress and boost nutritional values.

In addition to being beneficial to health and to carry the "[creative studio’s] best wishes for life," the nutritious cakes are delivered in visually engaging packaging that borrows cues from pharmaceutical products while introducing whimsicality through a bold typeface and various color combinations.
