South Park, the long-running cartoon series, has never been afraid of making crass jokes, and so the Nosulus Rift is right down the comedy show's alley. The device, created for the video game 'South Park: The Fractured but Whole,' is like an Oculus Rift that straps over consumers' noses to deliver VR scents. However, the only scents that the Nosulus Rift has in its repertoire are the scents of flatulence.
Though the video for the Nosulus Rift looks like a joke in and of itself (which it is,) the device is an actual working prototype created by Ubisoft. There are no plans to sell the Nosulus Rift to consumers, but it will be on display at Gamescom in Cologne. And Cologne is indeed the perfect city to showcase Ubisoft's newest VR tech.
