Urban Silo Buildings

This Converted Silo Will Be Transformed in Copenhagen's Nordhavnen District

Danish architecture firm COBE will soon be transforming a 17-storey silo into a residential apartment building that will come to form the centerpiece and star attraction of the redeveloped district of Nordhavnen in the Danish capital Denmark.

The industrial structure, which stands 62 meters tall, will be converted into a residential building complete with a wide variety of public functions including exhibitions, events and dining facilities contained within its upper and lower levels.

The storeys vary spatially due to the fact that they performed silo-related functions such as the storage and handling of grain. This means Nordhavnen's star architectural attraction will feature 40 unique apartments, with each featuring large panoramic windows and angular balconies offering stunning views.
