Gamer-Centric Smartphones

The Nokia Lumia PLAY Lets You Take Your Xbox on the Road

The Nokia Lumia PLAY is a conceptual smartphone designed as the end-all-be-all of cellphone gaming. Antonio Celestino's phone is powered by Windows 8 and is meant to be used primarily for gaming. It has an 8-core processor, 3GB of RAM and an HD touchscreen.

What makes the Nokia Lumia PLAY unique is its two slide-out gamepads. The pads are secretly hidden in the top and bottom of the phone and consists of a directional pad and a button pad. These two pads are meant to take the action away from the touchscreen; the more intense and action-packed a game gets the harder it can be to control via touch. Additionally, the phone would also be able to act as an actual Xbox controller.

Although the Nokia Lumia PLAY is targeted at gamers, the phone would still appeal to non-nerds. It comes packed with Windows 8 and a 5MP front-facing camera that can record video in 720p and has a 10MP rear-facing camera that can record in full HD.
