Noam Sussman somehow manages to make the already strange cast of The Simpsons look even stranger. With stubbier legs, larger craniums and necks the same sizes as torsos, Sussman's work really does not conform to anatomical norms.
And it's not just Matt Groening's creations that get this treatment either; every one of Sussman's creations features whimsically proportioned subjects. That's a good thing, though, as viewers get to experience familiar characters in their oddest of incarnations. You never know whether you're supposed to laugh or feel unnerved; that's the brilliance of Noam Sussman's work.
Sussman cites crude and surreal artists like Robert Crumb and Salvador Dali as his main influences. Their renegade spirit to illustration lives on through him as he, too, does not censor himself when drawing exposed reproductive organs or gruesome scenarios.
