The No Blow Candle is a Hygenic Solution for Birthday Celebrations

Birthday candles are being phased out of the post-pandemic world and Betty Crocker hopes to keep the tradition alive in a safe way with its No Blow Candles. The cone-shaped "candles" are designed to maintain rituals like singing and celebrating, all the while bringing awareness to the potential of spreading germs by blowing on a cake.

The device features an LED light and a microphone so that it can respond to the noise of singing and clapping with light patterns.

Betty Crocker's Arnaud Sliwa says "Unfortunately the pandemic has meant a few traditions have been lost, and blowing out birthday candles is one of them. Our research tells us however that the cake is not lost, in fact it’s still very much at the heart of the party."
