This NIKE Air Force 1 Sculpture is a 3D Printing Masterpiece

3D printing is opening up all sorts of possibilities in the art world; it allowed design studio Modla and London-based artist Damilola Odusote to make a 3D sculpture of a iconic NIKE Air Force 1 sneaker.

They re-imagined the shoe as a little world or island where people could live. They included a plane, buildings, stairs, little people and much more -- all existing on the shoe-habitat. The innovative sculpture was printed using white SLS nylon plastic. The whole process took 15 hours.

The art piece has no color and yet it speaks volumes as it pays tribute to the beautiful but simple Air Force 1 design it used as inspiration. This inspired sculpture proves that 3D printing truly is the art of the future.
