This Company Turns Worn Out Clothing into New Yarn

'Evrnu' is a Seattle-based start-up that turns old clothing into new yarn. Although many companies have started programs to recycle old clothing, the majority of these retailers do not have a use for the old garments. Regeneration has yet to be commercialized, meaning many companies are unable to put recycled clothing to good use.

Evrnu has devised a better solution for recycling old clothes. Instead of leaving the pieces intact, Evrnu breaks down each garment and turns it into new yarn. The process of turning the pieces into new textiles involves using a solvent to turn the fabric into a pulp. The pulp is then pushed through a filter in order to produce new thread. The resulting yarn has the texture of silk and is far stronger than cotton.

Evrnu's unique process provides a more eco-friendly solution for reusing old clothing.
