Plex Launced Its New Desktop Application for Both Mac and Windows

Plex has created a new desktop application that will be available for both Mac and Windows computers. The app is intended to replace the exiting Plex Media Player. The new desktop app also indicates a change in the company ethos, as the Plex will no longer make its application that is on the Windows store available. According to Plex the idea to create the app is a result of user interactions with the platform.

Plex also remarked that other streaming services are able to provide support for almost all for the same formats.

The new Plex app for desktops has a number of capabilities that were also on the previous version. Offline access lets users access files remotely, using the new "Downloads" feature.
