Lindores Abbey Launches Its Nectere Single Malt Whisky

Lindores Abbey Distillery introduced Nectere Single Malt, a whisky releasing on 25 June and matured exclusively in sherry casks, featuring a combination of four cask types: Oloroso, Pedro Ximénez, Amontillado and Palo Cortado. The expression draws inspiration from the distillery’s historic roots while combining modern whisky-making techniques with Fife-grown barley sourced from land once farmed by the Lindores Abbey monks.

Each sherry cask type contributes distinct layers of flavour and complexity, with Oloroso providing structure and dried-fruit character, Pedro Ximénez adding richness and sweetness, Amontillado bringing lifted aromatics and roasted nuttiness, and Palo Cortado contributing elegance and subtle oxidative notes. Mahogany in colour, Nectere offers aromas of treacle, red apple, vanilla custard cream and cinnamon, followed by flavours of molasses, chocolate raisins, nutty macaroons, toffee and warming spice.

Priced at £65 for a 70cl bottle and available from 25 June, the release highlights growing consumer interest in provenance-led, sherry-matured single malts.
