Celebratory Thrift Shop Promotions

Goodwill is Celebrating National Thrift Shop Day with Discounts

On August 17th, Goodwill is celebrating National Thrift Shop Day with discounts and special social media promotions. The initiative not only encourages consumers to stop by their local Goodwill, but it also raises awareness about the work that Goodwill does providing education, training and career development to people in the community.

In honor of National Thrift Shop Day, Goodwill locations across the country are offering special in-store discounts. The company is also running a social media campaign that encourages consumers to share their favorite Goodwill finds. As a reward, the top three submissions will receive gift cards to their local Goodwill. The idea is to show consumers that they can update their wardrobe while also helping support their community. As President and CEO of Goodwill Industries International Jim Gibbons explains, "thrifters not only celebrate the values of up-cycling, re-using, smart shopping and thrifty fashion, but by shopping at Goodwill, they can have an even greater impact."
