The National Geographic Traveller Photo Contest 2014 has officially started and the submissions are pretty fantastic so far.
It is the 26th annual edition of the competition and this year National Geographic is accepting photos in four particular categories: Travel Portraits, Outdoor Scenes, Sense of Place and Spontaneous Moments. Entries will be accepted until June 30th so there should still be plenty of photos to come.
Some of the best photos so far are of mesmerizing landscapes, rare animals and people doing their own thing in their native countries.
The official grand prizes include: an 8-day Alaska expedition, a 5-day photo workshop in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and a 6-day cruise for two. Secondary prizes are also up for grabs with prizes like gift certificates, framed pictures and DVD courses.
