Nate by Lisa Berkert Wallard Appears Artistically Worn Down

A strikingly original design, Nate by Lisa Berkert Wallard, a product and set designer based in Stockholm, Sweden, is a cabinet that has been given the illusion that it is eroding. Of course, upon closer inspection, it is clear that is not the case at all. In place of actual erosion, the edges have simply been layered in an organic manner.

Made entirely out of wood, Nate by Lisa Berkert Wallard is part of the Is This It? by Beckmans College of Design exhibition during Greenhouse at the Stockholm Furniture Fair. Wallard writes, "More often than not, the idea process required to create something defines its purpose and character more than its appearance. Like the idea of reincarnation, the creative process is a journey where ideas take different forms."
