Nature and the literary arts have both influenced the creation of this mushroom lamp, produced as a brilliant symbol of the magic of life. Alessandro Zambelli was inspired by Franz Kafka’s ideas of metamorphosis, giving birth to this visual concept of a beetle transforming into a lamp.
With ExNovo 3D printing technology, the designer put a broad ceramic base together with a perforated nylon lampshade. Both are finished in matching primary colors of bold red, blue or yellow. The abstract insect attracts attention with its striking pigment and its textured shell, only to become a brilliant but diffused light source amid a dark room. Called the Maggiolina Table Lamp, this mushroom lamp would bring a visual punch and imagination to contemporary kids' rooms.
