Permanent Designer Museums

The Musée Yves Saint Laurent is Opening in Marrakech

The Musée Yves Saint Laurent is finally opening its doors in Marrakech, the city in Morocco that captured the famed designer's heart during his visit in the 1960's.

Designed by French architecture firm Studio KO, this 4,000 square foot exhibit pays homage to Saint Laurent's iconic works. The facade of the building was complete with a terracotta brick, which offers a rich texture that's intentionally reminiscent of threads of fabric. The interior of the building is filled with 5,000 clothing garments, 15,000 accessories in addition to a variety of sketches and "assorted objects."

Aside from the prolific works, the Musée Yves Saint Laurent also offers its guests a library, a bookstore, an auditorium, and a cafe.
