Cutout Couture Collections

The Mugler Spring 2012 Collection was Brazenly Beautiful

As many of you fashionistas are probably wondering, Lady Gaga did not make an appearance on the runway at the Mugler Spring 2012 show like last season. Nevertheless, the show was pretty spectacular. She did, however, show up in the opening video, singing "I am a Mugler woman; don't f*** with me. Don't f*** with Mugler. Welcome to Paris; we are Paris." Perhaps it was written at the last minute.

Moving on from the inexplicable art of Lady Gaga, the Mugler Spring 2012 collection was Nicola Formichetti's second collection for the brand, and while it did not blow anyone away, it was certainly impressive. The theme here (and at many other Spring 2012 shows) seemed to be cutouts galore. Glitter-covered tights and dresses that showed plenty of leg (and everything else) dominated the collection, which will surely be lusted after by party girls around the world (Gaga included).
