Minimalist Board Game Makeovers

Monopoly by Matthew Hollett Erases All Text and Monetary Items

Monopoly by Matthew Hollett is a complete makeover for the iconic board game that many grew up with and still love playing.

Removing all of what the California-based designer calls excessive details, the new game board now looks like a playful square decorated with Crayola's patterned stamp marker. Entitled Onopo, the new minimalistic Monopoly by Matthew Hollett eliminates the distractions of busy text and monetary temptations. The designer replaces them with fun colorful shapes that would attract designers like himself. Even the bank notes and real estate have been altered to become desirable patterns and shapes as well.
