The Molocko Lamp by Leonardo Criolani is Modern and Organic

At first the Molocko Lamp appears to be a side table. That is because functions both as a light fixture and a piece of furniture. Nevertheless, it is not this double duty convenience that will win people over. More likely than not, they will be enamored with the organic design of the Molocko Lamp.

Like a series of lightning strikes or a handful of gnarled trees, the illuminated cracks in the Molocko Lamp are clearly inspired by nature. Interestingly, this organic design lies in complete contrast to the overall minimalist cube shape the Molocko Lamp takes on. The designer, Leonardo Criolani, writes, "The linearity of a shape such as a cube, interrupted and displaced from its geometric nature, accentuated by a light source that tries to expand, as if to break the perfection of a geometric shape, such as the opposition of non-transparent material to the passage of light."
