Angry Avian Cartoon Adaptations

The Angry Birds are Jumping from Smartphone Screens to TV Screens

You knew this was coming; Angry Birds is just too huge a property to not make the jump to a mobile game cartoon adaptation.

Considering Rovio’s Angry Birds games have been downloaded over a billion times across the myriad of devices its available for, it really was only a matter of time until the property expanded to other media. If anything, I’m surprised it took this long. First up for the mobile game cartoon adaptations is this web series that will air on angrybirds.com/toons starting weekly in mid March 2013. To their credit, the animation is smooth and impressive in the trailer. Rovio’s next goal is actually make a CG animated theatrical film for 2016.

Three years should probably be enough time to come up with a sensible plot that involves furious birds flying into flimsy pig-built structures. I’m glad it’s not my job to come up with that.
