MIT Build-Your-Own-Robot kits are the answer to the DIY gadgeteer's prayers.
The technology mecca started work on an initiative to let people create and construct their own mechanized creations out of paper from home -- so long as they have a nifty 3D printer.
Funded with a hefty grant from the National Science Foundation (to the tune of $10 Million) the institute is making it easier for innovative new minds to quickly and easily create a cyber creature for research and development projects which they may not have been able to afford otherwise.
It will also save time and effort in constructing the physical mechanized auto bot, and will allow the researcher to focus on the project itself.
The pre-programmed robot packs would be a beneficial addition to high school science programs as well and give those who may never be able to afford their own robot the opportunity to print one out to have for their very own.
