A group of engineers and researchers working out of Arizona State University have developed a technology that is well and truly out of the future and possibly out of science-fiction novels -- a mind-controlled drone system. This system makes it possible for a pilot to take control of not just one drone but a group of drones both on the ground as well as in the air.
What's great about this particular mind-controlled drone system is that it makes use of existing technology in the form of an EEG skull cap that comes fitted with 128 electrodes. The EEG skullcap detects and records which parts of the brain are active when the wearer is thinking certain thoughts, before analyzing those thoughts and translating them into movement.
This mind-controlled drone system's most obvious application is in the military sector, as it will make it easier than ever for soldiers to engage targets from a safe distance.
