Uncle Milton and Mattel Mindflex Let You Move Objects With Your Brainwaves

Don’t freak out if you see your son start moving toys just by staring at them—a new wave of mind-controlled games has hit the market, and they’re truly unbelievable.

Unveiled at the American International Toy Fair in New York recently, Uncle Milton’s Force Trainer ($130) lets children move toy balls around by strapping on a headset and using their brainwaves to make them rise within a cylinder.

If this isn’t too John Travolta in Phenomenon for you, the toy fair also featured the Mattel Mindflex ($80) which lets you move foam balls through an obstacle using just your brainwaves.

"Both toys employ EEG, or electroencephalogram, technology. EEGs measure electrical activity in the brain and have been used to diagnose seizures, assess head injuries, and explore sleep disorders, among other conditions," TIME says. "In other words, the science behind these toys is legit; there’s no magic trick involved."

If it’s already possible to move foam balls with the mind, imagine what we’ll be able to do with our thoughts another decade from now…
