'Microlending for Women in Ontario' Supports 800 Women

The Microlending for Women in Ontario Program is a program, supported by the government of the province of Ontario in Canada, that aims to provide support to women who wish to start their own business. The program begins by providing financial literacy training, mentoring, professional skills development and life skills support.

Once women become ready to begin a business, they will be able to receive microloans -- small loans -- to start their businesses.

In this way, the Microlending for Women in Ontario Program gives low-income women access to training and financial support they wouldn't have had otherwise. Over 800 low-income women receive business training and support to help them become self-sufficient as successful entrepreneurs.
