Butterfly Door English EVs

The MG E-Motion Previews a Sportier Future for the Iconic British Brand

Fans of classic British cars will be happy to see the MG E-Motion debut at the 2017 Shanghai Auto Show. For years MG was known for its sexy and sophisticated sports cars and roadsters. Now the brand Is Chinese-owned and builds economy cars. The MG E-Motion looks to bring the company back to its roots. The two-door is an electric car with scissor doors meant to compete with the Tesla Model S. The MG E-Motion will seat four and offer an electric range of 310 miles. Top speed wasn't revealed but it should be able to do 0 to 60 mph in less than four seconds.

Apparently if the reaction to the MG E-Motion at Shanghai is positive then the company will put the car into production. Along the way it will likely lose those great butterfly doors, but so long as it still offers 300 miles of range and features a sleek and sexy profile it's unlikely consumers will care how the doors open.
