Quiquiriqui's Mezcal Bag-In-Box Contains Five Liters of Espadin Mezcal

Bag-in-box alcohol offers prolonged freshness, reduced oxidation and convenient dispensing, and this cost-effective, eco-friendly packaging solution commonly used for wine is now available as a mezcal bag-in-box option. The Quiquiriqui Mezcal Bag-In-Box holds five liters of the brand's flagship Espadin mezcal, which is equivalent to seven 700ml glass bottles, meaning that it fits one more bottle than in a standard case.

Sustainability in the mezcal world comes down to the packaging just as much as the production itself," says Quiquiriqui founder Melanie Symonds, "We put a lot of care and attention into agave replanting schemes and supporting the local communities where the spirit is made, looking at packaging and transportation felt like the next natural step for us to continue our care for our planet."

This waste-reducing innovation is said to use just 15% of the materials needed for a glass bottle.
