Mermaid fever is sweeping across Israel with people spending their evenings mermaid-spotting in the hope of claiming the $1m reward on offer to anyone who can prove the existence of one.
After a series of sunset ‘sightings’ just off the coast were reported, in the name of scientific research, the town council of Kiryat Yam placed a million dollar bounty on the frolicking mermaid’s tail.
The council said that a photograph will suffice as proof, so stay tuned for the impressive photoshopping efforts that are sure to pop up soon.
