Rugged Luxury Truck Debuts

The 2018 Mercedes-Benz X-Class is the Brand's First Mid-size Pickup

South Africa was the official launch site for the 2018 Mercedes-Benz X-Class, the brand's first light pickup truck. The automaker is best known for its luxury cars and SUVs but does has experience with trucks, albeit bigger ones. The Mercedes-Benz X-Class is designed to appeal to those looking for a rugged truck with a touch of luxury and class.

The X-Class can be had with four different engines, one gas and three powered by diesel. It can be had with a manual transmission or seven-speed automatic. All-wheel drive is also available. The Mercedes-Benz X-Class will be sold in most major markets around the world, although surprisingly it will not make it to U.S. dealers. When it goes on sale later in the year in Europe the Mercedes-Benz X-Class will have a starting price of around $42,000.
