Color-Changing Supercars

The McLaren MSO 650S Concept Changes Color in Direct Sunlight

The McLaren MSO 650S Concept is a dark, handsome beast of a supercar—but don’t get too excited yet as it’s only a concept that is being unveiled to gauge reactions and interest before McLaren decides whether to proceed with a production version.

The car is finished in an in-house paint called Agrigan Blake, a unique metallic finish infused with deep ruby flakes that shift color when exposed to direct sunlight. This color shift is designed to contrast with the car’s satin-finished carbon fiber elements, such as its front splitter, air intakes, side blades and rear diffuser.

The McLaren MSO 650S Concept is fitted with a twin-turbo 3.8-liter 641 horsepower V8 engine housed in satin black engine casing.
