The McLaren 650S is Faster Than a Formula One Car Over a Quarter Mile

British sports car manufacturer McLaren unveiled its latest multi-million dollar plaything, the McLaren 650S, at the Geneva Auto Show.

Although announced as a unique model, the McLaren 650S is essentially an upgrade over the MP4-12C model, as it has many of the same features and designs but directly addresses some of the flaws of the MP4-12C.

The new McLaren 650S has the same carbon fiber composite chassis, and is powered by the exact same 3.8-liter twin-turbo engine. However, this new model has more power and can hit 62 mph in a jaw-dropping 3 seconds flat. Its top speed is a breezy 207 mph, and it can hit faster speeds over a quarter mile than McLaren's Formula One car.

Butterfly-like dihedral doors open up to reveal a hand-stitched interior that is luxurious but has a classy, old-school-vehicle feel

McLaren claims that the 650S is a more accessible ride that can be enjoyed by different kinds of drivers, and isn't solely targeted towards drivers looking to push the car to its absolute limit.

Prices for the McLaren 650S start at around $324,000.
