80s Revival Styles

The Material Girl 'Double Identity' Editorial Reintroduces Old School Outfits

Material Girl's 'Double Identity' magazine spread is fixated on a fashionable 1980s revival project. Models Esther Heesch and Leslie Lowenherz are found intertwined amid a bubble gum pink and light blue walls, the very backdrops that helped to accentuate stylist Nadja Mara Brvar's host of vintage in your face pieces.

Photographer Marco Trunz captured Heesch and Lowenherz in this Double Identity Material Girl spread. Nike sweatbands, dark lip liner and loose technicolor t-shirts are reminiscent of the past decade, as are the large headphones and bright green accessories. The most distinctive piece is a retro Chanel sport jacket. The black and gold pattern is exactly what one would find in an old school hip hop music video, and it has been repurposed here in the interest of fashion.
