Waste-Reduction Shoe Boxes

Matadog Design Has Created a More Eco-Friendly Shoe Box

Andreas Kioroglou, the founder of the design studio Matadog Design spent two years creating a shoe box that is more functional than those often offered by brands, while simultaneously being much less wasteful.

The shoe box comes in a square form, but that square is made up of modular prisms that can be adjusted into different positions. These shapes allow for the shoes to be easily portable, and can also be used as indefinite storage options for them. The box can also be converted into a carry bag or a shoulder bag, ensuring that it can easily be transported from place to place.

This re-imagined shoe box design uses 57% less cardboard than its more common counterparts, and also takes up 50% less space.
