Artist Matabi Paints a Polychromatic Depiction of a Town

Artist Matabi must have a one-of-a-kind perspective on the world to be able to envision an entire cityscape in rainbow hues. The buildings, the roads, the night sky, these are all things the Japanese graphic designer has enrich with her polychromatic brushstrokes and now, an otherwise muted night scene is packed with the visual splendour of an aurora; it’s the very definition of eye candy.

Artist Matabi primarily renders her paintings in watercolors, though she also occasionally illustrates using digital software. Her images are often characterised by their lush colors and analog feel. This gives her work an overall warmth that’s not present in sterile modern day computer-generated images. Children are her subjects of choice as almost each color-filled creation has one kid looming about somewhere.
