Mark Sage Repurposes French Oak Barrels into Chic Lighting Fixtures

These urban-rustic chandeliers are created from French oak wine barrels. Furniture designer Mark Sage of Belgium hand makes the fixtures in a number of sizes from reclaimed wooden casks.

Sage uses barrel staves, the strips of oak used to make the wine drums and the metal hoops used to hold them together, in the lighting designs.

Mark Sage’s six-candle version of the wine barrel chandelier has just been listed by Restoration Hardware, so if you have your heart set on one you can order your own for $2,495; however, quantities are limited.
