Born on a remote island in the North of Norway just outside the Arctic Circle, Amelie grew up surrounded by naturally created beautiful landscapes in a part of the world where the very extremities of weather are felt throughout the year.
This has helped Mariell Amelie develop a unique way to visualize and create her projects. Through using her surroundings, she crafts self-portraits rich in both imagery and emotion.
