Shipping Container Tiny Homes

The Mansfield Container House is Made from Unlikely Material

The Mansfield Container House is a tiny home made from two discarded shipping containers. Melbourne-based architect Robbie Walker upcycled the containers by merging them to form a tiny, off-grid cabin for family holidays and solo vacations.

The tiny home boasts an L-shape. Modern architecture has redefined how certain materials are used; many architects have turned to non-traditional materials for a more cost-effective, eco-friendly, modular building process. That said, the shipping container has become a hot commodity in the housing industry.

Walker's Mansfield Container House is comprised of two 20-foto shipping counters that total 30 square feet. The design maintains an industrial aesthetic and features natural, polished plywood cladding on the interior walls to brighten up the space.
