Mandatory Spirit Co. launches Australian-First 1.5l bag-in-boxes

Mandatory Spirit Co, a beverage company based in Brisbane, Australia, has taken a step towards more environmentally-friendly spirits production by introducing its liquor in 1.5-liter Bag-in-Box packaging (BIB) - a first-of-its-kind for spirits in Australia. The company claims that this new packaging method will not only extend the shelf-life of its beverages but also minimize its carbon footprint. By using a lightweight box design, the company aims to minimize unused space and optimize transport capacity. The brand claims a truck carrying the boxes holds the same volume as seven trucks carrying glass bottles.

Apart from its new shape, the box packaging also features a colored pourer made from 100% recyclable material. This further emphasizes the company's commitment to sustainability.

"By creating these spirits, Aussies can have a bit of fun and get creative with making their favourite cocktails while purchasing spirits in a far more sustainable way," said Mark Collins, co-founder of Mandatory Spirit Co. "They’re also perfect for taking to picnics or parties whilst also not having to worry about carrying around a glass bottle."
