Electric Vehicle Automaker Expansions

Lucid Motors is Opening its First Facility in Saudi Arabia

'Lucid Motors,' the electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer, has opened a new Lucid EV facility in Saudi Arabia. The automaker currently has one vehicle on the market, the 'Lucid Air' sedan, and one vehicle in development, the 'Lucid Gravity' SUV. Currently, it is not known which vehicles the Saudi Arabian location will be manufacturing. However, Lucid Motors has stated that this new location will have a production capacity of 150,000 vehicles annually.

Lucid Motors' upcoming Gravity SUV is expected to release in the first half of 2024. This vehicle will likely release in both the United States and Saudi Arabian markets due to the company's largest shareholders being based in Saudi Arabia. Additionally, the new production plant is only approximately half of the production capacity of Lucid Motors' American plant, which boasts a capacity of 365,000 vehicles annually.
