GROOVE X Launches the FRAGMENT EDITION of its Lifelike 'LOVOT' Robots

Japanese robotics company GROOVE X has launched the second-generation edition of its ‘LOVOT’ family robot, which mimics the characteristics of a household pet. The new FRAGMENT EDITION ‘LOVOTs’ arrive as the brand’s first collaboration, boasting an all-black design with bold blue eyes. The GROOVE X founder was inspired to create ‘LOVOTs’ after visiting a nursing home where the residents expressed a desire for warmer, more lifelike robots. The ‘LOVOT’ robots can travel around the house independently, recognize faces, sense changes in brightness and temperature, and distinguish speech.

The monochromatic FRAGMENT robots also come with various clothing pieces and accessories for both the robots and their owners, which are offered by fragment design, NEIGHBORHOOD, sacai, and GOD SELECTION XXX.

The LOVOT FRAGMENT EDITION robots will launch online and at Isetan Shinjuku Men's on November 9.
