Handmade Retro Arcade Games

This Battlecade Game by Love Hulten is a Beautiful Arcade Throwback

Hidden inside a hardwood American walnut case, it's hard to believe that this Battlecade arcade game by Love Hulten is even an electronic device.

The vintage arcade-inspired two-player game is Love Hulten's take on the classic game of Battleship. The players sit across from each other and use the retro joysticks and playful, chunky buttons to try to hit each other's ships -- just like in the board game version. In Love Hulten's game design, players face each other, so friends and family can watch each other's reactions and interact in a way that arcade games don't usually allow for. The only downside is that the piece isn't actually available for sale: the artistic arcade game was built as a passion project for Hulten.

Retro arcade games have seen a resurgence in popularity, and this Love Hulten game combines the fascination for vintage games with the recent explosion of cultural passion for handcrafted woodwork, art and practical DIY projects.
