The Let's Integrate! is an app designed to attempt to help refugees arriving in Germany better connect with local citizens to create either plutonic or romantic connections. The platform is established to help German citizens become more friendly and inclusive to the country's recent refugees from Iraq, Syria and Afghanistan. The site allows users to sign up under the category of either a 'local' or 'refugee' and find others to connect and meet up with.
The site is set up in such a way that it allows newcomers and locals to find one another online and then set up a time and place to meet in person to have coffee, conversation or even go on dates. The platform hopes to help reduce issues of prejudice by offering friendly and neighbourly welcoming. The Let's Integrate! platform is currently operating out of Berlin, but could be useful in cities all around the world.
The project is a friendly way to unite and extend a friendly invitation to newcomers to a foreign country that can often undergo a feeling of marginalization or alienation when taking on a life in a new place.
