The Living Wall is a Perfect Recreation of Manhattan

The Open Planning Project (TOPP) is a non-profit whose dedication toward eco-friendly, transparent urban design is made evident by their Living Wall fixture in their downtown NYC offices.

The main floor of the TOPP suite is designed around a continuous, 84-foot-long walnut bookshelf intended to perfectly recreate Manhattan's landscape. Each cubby of the bookshelf represents a city block, avenue or street and is complemented by the sprawling central park supplement. The enormous urban park manifests itself as a Living Wall that grows and requires the attention of TOPP employees -- small ponds and lakes have even been included in the details. Because the green fixture was installed adjacent to the office space, it's been given ample viewing space, impressing passersby and workers every day.
