Blistering Beauty Editorials

Photographer Ismaele Bulla Captured a Beauty Story Called 'Like Fire'

Beautyscene.net's 'Like Fire' Beauty Editorial is deceivingly gruesome. Italian photographer Ismaele Bulla, with the help of makeup artist Silvia Gerzeli, captured the images with the repercussions of fire in mind: burns.

Their makeup is seemingly done with thick, pigmented makeup and paint sloshed onto one side of their faces to give the illusion of fiery burnt skin. Some women look like they have painful raw skin, while others have the same facial landscape as the Sahara Desert. Blistery looking pocks are also on their skin -- it looks as though Gerzeli used some form of makeup adhesive or round beads to achieve the look.

Even with all the repugnant makeup artistry, Bulla is a true talent to still have been able to capture their beauty -- hats off to him.
