The Lightning Motorcycles Tachyon Nb Targets 250mph

The Lightning Motorcycles Tachyon Nb electric land speed bike is a hyper-speed-focused vehicle designed with efficiency and speed in mind.

The bike is focused on the electric motorcycle land speed record and thus has a targeted speed of 250mph, and has been created in collaboration between the aforementioned Lightning and the Brazil-based CBMM. The bike is outfitted with niobium alloys to help strengthen the metal components and also increasing the magnetic properties to make them more efficient.

CBMM Engineer Daniel Wright commented on use of niobium in the Lightning Motorcycles Tachyon Nb electric land speed bike saying, "We are implementing niobium-containing brake rotors for improved high temperature performance, several niobium components in the on-board charger that allow the entire system to be more reliable and efficient, and finally niobium-containing steel tubing in the swing arm and chassis that allows us to meet the demanding strength and weight requirements of the application."
