Scratch-Healing Smartphones

The LG G Flex Phone Has an Extremely Durable Elastic Coating

One of the most impressive things about the LG G Flex phone is its unusually curvaceous design, but LG recently released a video on its "self-healing" abilities. The demonstration involved running a bronze brush over the back of the LG G Flex. Over the course of two minutes, the cover miraculously heals itself.

YouTube user Marques Brownlee wasn’t entirely convinced by LG’s controlled tests and tried out a few experiments of his own. In his own series of experiments, he scratches the elastic-coated back of the LG G Flex phone with a set of keys, cuts into it with a knife and bends the curve so that the phone lies flat. The phone holds up quite well, bouncing back from most of these tests with what seems like pure magic.
