'Let's Talk It Over' by Dennis Shields is Dangerously Appealing

Although afternoon tea is often a time for relaxation and refinement, the 'Let’s Talk It Over' teapot gives it a whole new dangerous identity. In place of a traditional handle, this black sheep of the kettle family has a pistol.

Created by Liverpool-born and Lanarkshire-based artist Dennis Shields, the Let’s Talk It Over teapot cleverly combines the gun and kettle in such a way that the spout looks like the other end of the gun. Made out of found objects, it has a ceramic body and plastic, toy gun handle. Surreal and playful, it also comes in an all-white version.

As quirky as the Let’s Talk It Over teapot may be, it is nevertheless very practical. Perfect for the hipster, it would add a modern touch to an age-old tradition.
